The Refresher Personal Survival Techniques (Ref-PST) is a 1-day DG Shipping-approved Refresher Course conducted through classroom and practical training sessions. It is mandatory for seafarers who are required to revalidate their Personal Survival Techniques certificate as per STCW requirements.
This course is designed to refresh and update the knowledge and survival skills of seafarers related to emergency situations at sea. The training covers essential aspects such as donning of lifejackets and immersion suits, operation of liferafts and rescue boats, survival at sea techniques, emergency procedures, use of pyrotechnics, and actions to increase chances of rescue and survival after abandoning ship.
Successful completion of the Ref-PST course is mandatory for the revalidation of the Certificate of Competency (CoC) and for continuing employment onboard vessels.
